Rosa Parks by Lia Sacks (India ETA)
It’s February, and that means it’s Black History Month. If you’re looking for an engaging way to get your students to think about and discuss the important role African Americans have played in US history along with the systemic discrimination which has continually held them and other minority groups back, then this lesson on Rosa Parks created by India ETA Lia Sacks might be just the inspiration you need. Depending on time and your students’ levels, you may also be able to encourage them to make connections between Parks’ story and figures or events in their own country’s history, as Lia did at the end of her class.
