St. Patrick’s Day and Ireland Trivia by Robyn Kincaide (South Korea ETA)
It’s now March, which means that many of those around the world with Irish ancestors are looking forward to celebrating their heritage on St. Patrick’s Day. If you’re looking for a way to teach your students about this holiday in a fun and engaging way, check out our newest Lesson of the Week: St. Patrick’s Day and Ireland Trivia by South Korea ETA Robyn Kincaide.
Following a very brief lecture introducing some basic information about the holiday, students play a trivia game on St. Patrick and Ireland in order to learn more. Instead of earning points, students get to act as mischievous leprechauns and steal gold from other teams. As it was designed for South Korean students, some questions are designed to draw parallels between Irish and Korean history, but they can be easily adapted for students in any country.
