Snow Writing by Lisa Gagnon (Latvia ETA)
Winter is almost over for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, but in many parts of the world there is still snow on the ground. (And possibly more to fall from the sky…) Love it or hate it, it’s hard to deny that snow possesses an innate beauty, which our newest Lesson of the Week, “Snow Writing” by Latvia ETA Lisa Gagnon, helps students acknowledge through a creative writing and photography project.
Inspired by Shelley Jackson’s photo project in which she writes a story one word at a time in the snow (Instagram handle @snowshelleyjackson), this lesson was originally designed to help university students enhance their English creative writing skills, but it can be adapted to match the needs of lower-level students as well. You can download Lisa’s lesson plan here.
That’s it for our February lessons, but keep checking back in March for more lesson inspiration!
