Hi everyone,
Do you remember when you were a child, and you would race to the mailbox at the end of the day to see if you had received any mail? If your answer is no, than you are probably like most of your students. Many of us have grown up in the digital age, where the familiar chime of “You’ve Got Mail” was far more exciting than hearing the mail truck stop in front of your house. Besides, who wants to receive “snail mail” anyways? (ME! I Do! I love receiving letters from friends and family back home.)
In this weeks lesson I’m going to talk to you about creating a PenPal exchange program for your students. Just for some background information, I am doing this project with a group of 7th and 8th grade students in Taiwan, who have an intermediate level/comprehension of English. We are going to be doing a pen pal exchange with a group of senior high school students in South Korea.
How do you find a PenPal? Well, if you are seeing this post on the Fulbridge website or FB page you are in the right place! I contacted one of the site admins and asked if they would be able to reach out to other ETAs in their country and see if anyone was interested! This is another great benefit of the Fulbridge platform! I’ve also included a few additional links at the bottom that can help you find a PenPal.
I am hoping to teach this lesson sometime during the month of April, and begin our letter exchange shortly after that! Best of luck in getting your students to write a
Enjoy!
