No-Tech Beauty Lesson by Arya Mohanka
Teenagers all around the world get stressed out about their looks, and many scramble to buy new beauty products or the most stylish clothes in order to conform to certain beauty standards in their society. It’s a reality in every nation, but perhaps most particularly true in South Korea, where plastic surgery is quite common, and where middle and high school students idolize attractive members of K-pop groups.
To address the pressure of conforming to societal beauty standards, South Korea ETA Arya Mohanka designed this discussion-based lesson that can be taught without the use of technology, just a few slips of paper. While the discussion may go more in-depth with higher-level students, it is an engaging enough topic to get even low-level students talking.
