Lesson Resource of the Month: First Day Lesson Planning

First Day Lesson Planning by multiple contributors

And we’re back!

For many ETAs, the beginning of the grant year is approaching or already upon us, which means that soon classes will be starting. It’s a daunting experience, walking into the classroom on the first day and meeting the eyes of the students whom you will teach for the next few months. Whether you are an experienced teacher or a novice, whether you can fluently speak your students’ native tongue or know nothing more than how to say “Hello” and “Thank you”, the realization that you are now responsible for these students’ education is nerve-wracking and can lead to serious feelings of self-doubt.

We at Fulbridge know from experience just how difficult that first day can be, which is why we have designed August’s Lesson Resource of the Month post to help new ETAs with first day lesson planning and laying the foundation for classes in the coming weeks and months. Topics which ETAs may want to cover include:

  1. Self-Introduction
  2. Classroom Language
  3. Classroom Rules
  4. Rewards System

Click on the links above for resources in the named categories.

Stay tuned the rest of August for lessons from South Korea ETAs during South Korea month!
